What is so unique about the Cellfina treatment?
Cellfina treats the primary structural cause of cellulite – the connective bands woven throughout fat in the thighs and buttocks. Over time, these bands contract and tighten, pulling down the skin and creating the puckering you see on the surface of the skin. Similar to a rubber band under tension, once released, the treated areas bounce back to smooth itself out.
How does Cellfina work?
Cellfina differs from other cellulite treatments through the use of proprietary Tissue Stabilized – Guided Subcision. This technology utilizes the injection of a tumescent solution to numb the area before treatment. Then a vacuum handpiece stabilizes the tissue while a reciprocating micro-blade releases the septae bands that cause dimpling.
What is the downtime?
There is limited downtime associated with Cellfina. Some patients experience initial soreness and tenderness, but side effects resolve within two weeks. Bruising is common in the areas of subcision.
