Slough away signs of aging

Improve tone and texture and bring back the glow

Chemical peels are an ideal way to treat skincare concerns such as pigmentation, uneven skin tone, acne, and acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, and more. Aponi Aesthetics offers various levels of peels depending on the condition you wish to treat. All new patients consult with one of our skincare professionals to determine which level peel is appropriate for not only for your skincare concern but also for your lifestyle.

Which product lines are used?

Aponi Aesthetics uses only medical-grade peel products to achieve the best results possible in a safe, confidential environment. We have carefully selected various peel products from VI Peel (Vitality Institute) and ZO Skin Health, so you can be assured that you are receiving top-quality treatments at competitive prices. The stronger, more aggressive peels consist of a proprietary blend of TCA, Phenol, Salicylic Acid, Vitamin C, Retinoic Acid, and mineral blends.

What are the benefits of chemical peels?

  • Brighten skin
  • Smooth texture/tone
  • Stimulation of collagen
  • Reduce acne and acne scarring
  • Reduce the appearance of pores
  • Reduces sun damage (i.e. pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles)

Who should refrain from having chemical peels?

  • Patients who have used Accutane within one year
  • Allergy to aspirin or any of the ingredients in peels
  • Moms who are pregnant or breastfeeding

What to expect during treatment (peels may vary):

Skin will be thoroughly cleansed and prepped to remove oils and dead surface cells. Oils can prevent the peels from penetrating the skin and reduce the overall results. Lips and mucous membranes are then protected with Aquaphor. The actual peeling solution is applied to the area; in some cases, multiple passes of the acids will be conducted. During this process, the patient can hold a fan to their skin if they are uncomfortable. Some may experience a slight, tingling feeling. An SPF will be applied to the area treated post-op. We recommend wearing sunscreen and moisturizer throughout the day every day for at least a week. Patients will experience a slight tightness for the first 24-48 hours. The skin may be red, warm, and possibly itchy for the early 24 hours.

Post-peel protocol

While skin is peeling, we recommend not to pick or peel the dead skin. This could lead to permanent scarring and pigmentation. Some of the peels come with an at-home skincare kit that is used while the skin is peeling. Gentle facial cleansers are recommended; and no scrubs, exfoliants, or loofahs should be used. Sun exposure should be avoided for at least one week, and sunscreen is essential every day to maintain results.
